Label: ATO Records
Year: 2021
Format: LP
Base colors
O7
Originally released in 2013, the second studio album from prolific Australian six-piece King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, was repressed by NY-based ATO Records in 2021. The garage rock album takes on the style of a western soundtrack, complete with gravelled-voiceover from Broderick Smith, frontman for the 1970s Australian rock group The Dingoes. The record jacket features illustrations from regular collaborator Jason Galea as well as photography from Lauren Bamford, and has been reimagined from the original version seen on the 2013 release and this release’s inner sleeve.
Pressed on our O7 (Tangerine) color, the album package also includes a red center labels, a printed inner sleeve and foiled jacket sticker. Having released 23 studio albums by 2022, this unique early concept album holds a special place among KGLW fans and it’s not difficult to see why it’s been repressed numerous times over the years.
