News: Vinyl Pressing Price Reduction & Free White Sleeve Upgrade

The affordability of vinyl pressing is improving with an immediate pressing price reduction at PRP, plus more news for 2024.

Precision Record Pressing announces a vinyl pressing price reduction effective immediately.

Due to a combination of improved internal efficiency, business acquisitions and supply chain consolidation, Precision Record Pressing is proud to announce a price reduction of key pressing components to the benefit of all clients.

The latest addition to the GZ North America family is Wedlake Industries LLC, a PVC compound manufacturer located in TN, USA. Wedlake has begun serving the compound needs of the three vinyl plants in the GZNA group, allowing tight controls on quality, timing, and cost of the PVC compound used for record production. The following changes are effective immediately:

  • 140g vinyl = price lowered by $0.15 (USD) per unit
  • 180g vinyl = price lowered by $0.20 (USD) per unit

This reduction drops the black vinyl price to $1.60 (USD) per unit for 140g and $2.20 (USD) per unit for 180g.

“This month’s price reduction is the result of a multi-year plan to consolidate our supply chain and pass those savings on to our clients. We believe this further establishes PRP as the most price competitive plant in the industry.” – Paul Miller, Senior VP Sales

Other news:

As of January 1 2024, PRP is making white poly-lined sleeves the standard for 12” production. Currently available at a surcharge of $0.35 (USD) per unit, this premium sleeve will be available on all 12” orders at no additional cost starting next year. White poly-lined sleeves are considered a premium product by record collectors for a reason. The soft poly lining protects the LP against surface scratches, and their anti-static quality prevents the build-up of dust which can otherwise lead to unwanted noise.
