News: PRP Announces Eco Mix Made From 100% Recycled Vinyl
By Simon Daley

Precision Record Pressing continues its push for sustainability, with the introduction of a new effect offering called Eco Mix.
If you’ve ever browsed our collection of 47 base colors, you’ll know that we’ve long offered clients the option of “Random Color”. This selection guaranteed a random cocktail of vinyl colors blended together for your vinyl project. It used recycled compounds, however the results were difficult to predict and there was a risk of color muddling.
In early 2023 we began developing a solution for these problems and as a result, “Eco Mix” was born. Eco Mix is a new effect that uses 100% recycled vinyl, and is split into six distinctive color groups. This allows it to complement the color theme or artwork for your album, in ways not possible before. Additionally the new colors all feature varying levels of an effect we call “marbling”. This gives the mix a dynamic element, blending complementary colors to achieve a subtle, yet stunning look.
What Are The Options?
Eco Mix comes in 6 blends:
EM1: Red
EM2: Blue
EM3: Green
EM4: Yellow/Orange
EM5: Purple/Pink
EM6: Gray
A secret menu item called EM7 Rainbow is available at a minimum of 500 units. Rainbow gets you 3 Eco Mixes across the run (dealer’s choice) for orders of 500+, and 6 Eco Mixes at 1,000+.
Eco Mix can be ordered for production at PRP and also our parent plant, GZ Media. The cost of this effect is equivalent to the cost of choosing translucent colored vinyl.
How It’s Made:
The warehouse team sorts rejected vinyl records into bins representing our 6 Eco Mix options. After the center labels are punched out, the discs are reground and kept in inventory for future Eco Mix vinyl orders.
Since each color bin is made up of a variety of recycled vinyl, it’s important to note that Eco Mix pressings can vary from light to dark. No specific shade can be requested or guaranteed.
