That time of year is fast approaching once again. To help you avoid a last minute panic to find the perfect gift, we’ve highlighted five vinyl record clubs that could spice up any record collection.

Listen closely and you may just hear the collective groan of retail workers around the world. In this very moment Christmas music is being hastily loaded into mall sound systems, ready to remind you that the days are ticking down to find gifts for everyone from your parents to your postie. Well it’s hard to go wrong with the gift of music, so here are five vinyl record memberships that would make the perfect present for any music fan this Christmas.

Vinyl Me Please

The vinyl record club everyone has heard of, Vinyl Me Please stormed onto the scene in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since. Members can choose from one of three “Tracks”; Essentials, Classics or Rap & Hip Hop to compliment their personal music taste. Each month the VMP Record of the Month is mailed direct to your door and features a vinyl color, custom lyric book or exclusive artwork that cannot be found anywhere else instore or online.

Membership starts at $27 a month, for more information click here.

Vinyl Moon

A different type of record club, once a month Vinyl Moon treats its members to a compilation LP curated by founder Brandon Bogajewicz and his team. Each edition is housed in a stunning gatefold jacket with artwork by a different designer and the vinyl features a variety of effects, ranging from screen printing and etching to multi-color effects. Membership also includes a 15% discount on orders from the Vinyl Moon Shop where you can buy past volumes, turntable accessories and merch.

Membership starts at $27 a month, for more information click here.

Magnolia Record Club

Billing itself as “the only vinyl subscription service curated by artists, not robots”, Magnolia Record Club was founded by Nashville-via-Memphis musician Drew Holcomb. The club offers members a monthly package of a curated LP, an original art print as well as a note from the curator. Expect an abundance of indie folk, singer-songwriters, live acoustic sessions and much more direct to your door each month. We recently pressed the The Moon River Sessions compilation for MRC’s June 2019 edition, on a stunning color-in-color vinyl with splatter – check out the video here.

Membership starts at $27 a month, for more information click here.

Rough Trade Club

Powered by Rough Trade’s highly curated “Albums of the Month” list, each month club members receive an exclusive variant of a new album which can only be found at Rough Trade stores. If that particular record isn’t for you, exchange it for one of 9 other albums on the top 10 list. Count on regular helpings of Rock, Alternative Pop, Singer-songwriter and everything in between.

If you’re fortunate enough to live near a store subscribers also receive access to special member-only events, plus weekly online giveaways and priority pre-orders.

Membership starts at $24.99 a month, for more information click here.

Blind Tiger Record Club

Based in Nashville, Blind Tiger Record Club is the most genre-diverse of our selections, offering six categories to choose from; Singer-songwriter, Rock, Alternative, Jazz Soul & Blues, Classic Rock and Discover. Several of BTRC’s featured artists have been pressed by Precision Record Pressing, so utilize that member-only store discount and add some more quality records to your monthly box.
