News: Record Store Day 2020

The final installment in Record Store Day’s 2020 series is on Saturday 24 October and Precision Record Pressing is excited to have collaborated on a special release available on the day.
It’s fair to say that for most of us 2020 has been a weird year. After the domino-like cancellations of major public events in spring, it was music to the ears of vinyl record fans when Record Store Day announced in June that there would be three smaller “drops” taking place in August, September and October.
Our teams worked harder than ever this year to fulfill the many Record Store Day projects that were shipped around the world to dedicated vinyl fans, so we’ve highlighted five releases that you need in your collection ASAP.
Charlie Parker – Jazz At Midnight: Live at the Howard Theatre

Looking for a way to add an extra special touch to this Charlie Parker live album, the team at Blue Note/Universal tasked us with creating a custom color vinyl compound for this release, which they dubbed “Midnite Blue”. Find out more here.
Black Crowes – Lions

Selling out almost immediately, this reissue of the Black Crowes 2001 album “Lions” was pressed on opaque Hot Pink (O15), perfectly complimenting the color scheme of the gatefold jacket. Find out more here.
Ella Fitzgerald – The Lost Berlin Tapes

Comprising recently re-discovered recordings of Ella Fitzgerald’s 1962 concert in Berlin, this never-before-available double LP comes in a colorful attention-grabbing gatefold jacket and made waves around the world upon release. Find out more here.
Murs & 9th Wonder – Brighter Daze

We love it when a client chooses one of our exclusive PRP Mixes for their project, so were excited that Empire Records selected Oceania Mix (MIX 04) for the first vinyl pressing of this collaboration between rapper Murs and producer 9th Wonder. Find out more here.
Ace Frehley – Trouble Walkin’

No stranger to Precision Record Pressing, Ace Frehley and his team at Entertainment One opted for a Neon Yellow (N4) and Tangerine (T7) color in color effect for this repress of his 1989 album. A video of the project being pressed can be viewed here.
Precision Record Pressing x Tiny Record Shop
Back in 2019 we collaborated with Toronto’s much-loved Tiny Record Shop on a special 7″ release for their Record Store Day 2019 in-store event. Earlier this year we once again teamed up with the shop, this time with our mutual friends Paper Bag Records leading the project, which resulted in a two-track 7″ from their signing The Rural Alberta Advantage.
The 7″ which comes in screen printed white sleeves, features covers of Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man” and Human League’s “Fascination” and will be given away to the first 50 customers who purchase a copy of RAA’s “Hometowns” reissue this Saturday at Tiny Record Shop. The shop will also be hosting the band for an outdoor, socially-distanced record signing from 9am-10:30am, see you there!
