News: New MOMENTUM Program Announced

We have launched MOMENTUM, a new program which aims to lower the barrier to entry for small indie labels and artists on runs of 100 12” units.

To support independent artists and bands dealing with the ongoing impact of COVID-19, we are announcing a brand new program to reduce the upfront cost of pressing vinyl records.

For many independent artists and bands, pressing vinyl records can be a significant financial commitment. We’ve heard first hand from some of our customers about the effect that tour cancellations and social distancing have had on their opportunity to sell vinyl records. However we’re also aware of the significant increase in physical music being sold online through direct-to-fan stores. In response we are launching MOMENTUM, a new program which aims to lower the barrier to entry for small indie labels and artists on runs of 100 12” units.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Submit your project and pay an upfront 60% deposit on the total cost
  2. We press 100% of your records
  3. Once they’re ready we’ll deliver 60% of the records to you
  4. You then have until December 11 2020 to purchase the remaining 40% of your units. The MOMENTUM program is no commitment, so should you choose not to purchase the remaining units, your records will be recycled and the materials used again.

This program is perfect for those looking to press EPs and albums to sell online and in stores during social distancing and want the remaining units for touring when the live industry regains momentum. For example, on a 100 unit run of our standard black package, you only need to pay $834 USD ($1,084 CAD) to receive 60 copies*, instead of the full $1,390 USD ($1,807 CAD) to receive your order.

This offer expires on July 31 2020, please speak to your account manager and mention MOMENTUM for more information. *All vinyl orders are subject to a plus or minus 10% tolerance to allow for our strict quality control processes. For example, it’s possible for the final quantity to be between 90 and 110 units. This is known as the over/under rule, and is an industry-wide practice.
